March – Irish/Celtic events

3/11-Road Bowling demo on McManus Trail, 3/12 - Celtic music at The Raleigh, plus restaurant food specials during the week, & painting class at Pottery Place.

April - Beckley’s 3rd Annual Coffee and Tea Celebration

4/22
11 am – 2 pm, sample coffee, tea, and desserts, food trucks, art & authors booths, music, and Coffee & Cars Show on Main Street.

May – Rhododendron Festival

Various activities throughout the month of May including Sweet Treats and the Emergency Preparedness Fair on 5/13 at the Beckley Intermodal Gateway, Founders Day at Wildwood on 5/20, Rhododendron walk at Grandview on 5/21, Rhododendron Car Show at BIG on 5/27 featuring Jack and David Reid, grandsons of the Statler Brothers & more!

June – August – Fridays in the Park

lunch concerts, 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, Word Park

Parade at 11 am, followed by veterans’ luncheon at WVU Tech building on Neville Street, and band showcase at the Beckley Intermodal Gateway.

  • Monthly Sunset / Full Moon Walks / Bike Rides on the McManus Trail – March-November – with Active Southern WV
  • The Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine and Youth Museum hosts events throughout the year (i.e., Honey Festival on August 19, Fall Celebration in October, and Appalachian Coal Town Christmas in November/December).  Plus, the city manages The Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre and Historic Black Knight – both venues host numerous events.
