West Virginia residents should dial 5-1-1 to access road conditions, traffic information and weather alerts. Those out-of-state can access the WV511 Traveler Information System by dialing 855-MY-WV-511 or 855-699-8511. If you attempt the in state 5-1-1 number and it does not work, try the out-of-state number.
If there is also an expectation of Heavy Wet Snow.
All of these elements have raised concerns for power outages, and severe winter weather conditions.
Take a moment and a quick mental inventory of your home and what supplies you may need. Also where the Emergency Shelters are in your area, should you need them.
